Product Overview
The Juniper QFX5241-64QD-DO is a high-performance 2U switch from the QFX5241-64QD Series, optimized for end-of-row, leaf, or spine roles in IP fabric architectures, particularly as shallow buffer platforms for spine in data centers. It features 64 QSFP-DD ports supporting up to 800 Gbps, delivering 51.2 Tbps throughput with high port density to reduce space and power costs. Equipped with DC PSUs and airflow out (AFO) cooling.
Architecture & Performance
Powered by high-radix class TH5 BCM78900 chipsets with 64 Peregrine SerDes cores and an Intel 4-core 2.2-GHz Ice Lake D processor with 32 GB DRAM. Runs Junos OS Evolved on two internal 480-GB NVMe SSDs. Supports advanced telemetry (ECN/PFC counters), load-balancing for complex flows, and automation via Apstra. Data transmission capability: 800 Gbps per port.

Power and Cooling
Two 12.2-V, 3000-W DC PSUs (hot-insertable/hot-removable, 1+1 redundancy, load sharing). Four QFX5240-2U-FANAO fan modules (80 mm x 80 mm x 80 mm, 12.2 V, N+1 redundancy, AFO front-to-back airflow).
Component Redundancy and FRUs
PSUs and fan modules are hot-insertable/hot-removable FRUs. Cooling offers N+1 fan redundancy; fan replacement: 2 min at 77°F (25°C), 30 sec at 95–104°F (35–40°C).
