Cisco IOS XE Software for Cisco ASR 900 Series Aggregation Services Routers provides a modular structure, enhancing quality and performance through separation of data plane and control plane. The SLASR907-M license activates the Metro Services feature set on the Cisco ASR 907 Router, allowing customers to pay only for required capabilities.
Cisco ASR 907 Router is supported as of Cisco IOS XE Software Release 3.16.1aS. Consolidated software packages contain a superset of all features, activated via licenses. Flexible Software Activation supports a pay-as-services-grow model. All licenses except specific port licenses are per-chassis basis.

Additional Feature Licenses
- IPSEC License: Security for sensitive information over unprotected networks, network layer protection and authentication of IP packets. Requires reboot on enable/disable. Payload encryption available on RSP3 for ASR-907 with separate package.
- ATM License: Activates ATM on TDM interfaces, supports ATMoMPLS, local switching, interworking, termination. Requires T1/E1, OC-3/STM-1, or OC-12/STM-4 card.
- IEEE 1588-2008 BC/MC License: Activates Boundary Clock or Master Clock.
